The “Colloquium European Societies in digital Age”

In cooperation with the “Gustav Streseman Institut“, the “Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung” and the EU Commission the Slow Media Institut sets up a transnational project, the “Colloquium European Societies in digital Age”. Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, is part of the Convention, which opens the Colloquium.

The aim of the project is to share experiences and sum up knowledge about the challenges European countries face as part of the digitalisation and to find ways how to create good and democratically stable digital societies in Europe.
The platform which covers the activieties of the colloquium has been recently launched: https://colloquium-digital-societies.eu (in march 2019)

The Colloquium is built on three pillars:

  1. Satellite events in EU Member States to gather information on the relevant challenges and the current status of the digital society and to build up a transnational network
  2. Transnational video conferences with experts for sharing international experiences and knowledge
  3. Annually European conventions at the GSI with international experts and project partners coming together to exchange ideas and build a strong European network

Kick-Off: the Convention in june 2018
